JUNE VIP 2024

LEADERSHIP

Dave Stearns, Board President Doug Sutter, General Manager/COO

Dear Forest Highlands Members,

I am delighted to officially welcome you all to the 2024 summer season at Forest Highlands Golf Club! As our operations have fully awakened, our diverse team of dedicated professionals is more enthusiastic than ever to share genuine member experiences in the summer months ahead. It goes without saying, but this is the time of year we all admire the most! Below you will find updates on the effects of our golf course soft opening program, our new “Elevating Excellence” mission, completed and ongoing capital projects, and our goals for improving communication with both you, our members, and internally with our team. We are pleased to report that the first year of our soft opening program for our golf courses has proven to be a notable success. Since the Meadow Course opened for play on May 3rd and the Canyon Course on May 10th, members have enjoyed outstanding course conditions, especially considering the time of year. This phased approach allowed us to dedicate the majority of our agronomy team to fine-tune each course individually prior to opening in the early spring, provide intimate training programs for staff in all departments, and remain fiscally responsible during a period of historically lower membership participation. I would like to extend my gratitude for your support and understanding as we carried this program out and send praise to our agronomy team for ensuring a celebrated golfing experience for our members from the very start of our 2024 golf season campaign. Inspired by our goal to return one of our highly distinguished golf courses to the Top 100 ranking, the club’s new “Elevating Excellence” mission was born. Though this initially spawned from our golf course agronomy and golf operations teams’ goals, now the entire Forest Highlands family has embraced this mission and is striving to elevate excellence with every opportunity. We have implemented new training programs for our staff, introduced new innovative service standards, and are constantly seeking ways to exceed our members’ expectations. We encourage and kindly ask that our members take pride in the mission by doing their part to care for the facilities and take the necessary time to educate fellow members, family, and friends about our united principles to ensure future success.
