PRESERVING THE COURSE: ETIQUETTE

WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE SAYING...

Proper golf course etiquette extends beyond just playing the game—it involves actively caring for the course to preserve its beauty and integrity. This includes promptly repairing ball marks on the green using a divot repair tool and filling divots with sand or seed provided on the carts and to walkers. Raking bunkers after use ensures that golfers encounter smooth surfaces free of footprints. Respecting the rules for golf cart usage, including designated entry and exit points marked by Forest Highlands wood posts, is essential for maintaining the pristine conditions of the golf course. It's not only a responsibility but also a privilege for each golfer to contribute to its preservation. Adhering to these guidelines ensures the course remains in optimal condition for all players. By entering and exiting the course at designated points, golfers help minimize turf damage, especially during inclement weather when grass is vulnerable. Additionally, keeping carts on the fairway and away from rough and native grass areas is important to keep the course's natural beauty. To further enhance the golfing experience, players are encouraged to abide by a pace of play policy, ideally completing a round within 4 hours and 10 minutes. In instances where faster groups are behind and there are open holes ahead, players are urged to either allow faster groups to play through or skip a hole to maintain course flow. This proactive approach, facilitated by player assistants, ensures that all golfers can enjoy a seamless and enjoyable round. Elevating Excellence to the Top 100 by2027 requires a commitment to the care and preservation of the courses by all members. continued on the next page >>>
