MAKE ONE FIX TWO Fixing a ball mark on the green is crucial for maintaining the quality of the putting surface and ensuring a smooth roll for future putts. Here's how to properly fix a ball mark: Locate the Ball Mark: Identify the indentation left by the ball's impact on the green. It's essential to repair it as soon as possible to allow the turf to heal quickly. Insert the Tool: Use a ball mark repair tool. Insert the tool at the edge of the depression, not in the middle, to avoid damaging the roots. Leverage Technique: Gently push the tool handle forward, pulling the grass toward the center of the depression. Repeat this step several times, working around the edge of the mark until the depression is level with the surrounding surface. Pat Down: Lightly tap down the repaired area with your putter or foot to ensure it's flush with the green. Final Check: Inspect the repaired ball mark to ensure it's level and smooth. If necessary, make additional adjustments to achieve the desired result. By properly fixing ball marks on the green, you contribute to the overall health and playability of the course, ensuring an enjoyable experience for yourself and other golfers.
