RACQUETS
Dear Members,
What a magnificent start to June! We just finished opening the new tennis pavilion and had a wonderful Memorial weekend celebrating all that is new at tennis. We were fortunate to have the Wilson Representative host a full demo day, showcasing all the season’s latest tennis racquets, shoes, and apparel, that we proudly stock in the tennis and pickleball pro shops. Playmate Ball Machine representative, Todd Snow offered a demo of our new, top of the line IGENIE ball machine, that promises to take everyone’s game to a new level. We are proud to be offering a weekly ball machine clinic this summer, with a programmed guide on how best to elevate your game. We cannot thank the FHGC Board of Directors enough, for the support and effort it took to elevate our tennis program. This project has been years in the making and would not have come to fruition without the dedication and commitment of past and present Directors, past and present General Managers, Kurt Martin/Assistant General Manager, and the Ad-Hock Committee. A special thank you to Committee member, Leanne Mariano who acted as design liaison in this project, dedicating many, many hours in helping me, bring this “baby” to life! Please download the CLUBSTER app, which will become our chief promotional tool to showcase all that is taking place within the Racquet Department this season. Garrett Lakey, Head Tennis Professional, the team and I are so looking forward to all that we have planned for you over the course of the summer!

INTRODUCING SPEC TENNIS
• Spec Tennis is a new racquet sport that is played on pickleball courts (or tennis courts) using 18” perforated spec tennis paddles & orange dot low compression tennis balls. • It has a small learning curve, it’s social, and less noisy than pickleball. • Spec Tennis can also be a very effective bridge to or from tennis. Spec Tennis is more social than tennis, not as loud as pickleball, and all around a very pleasant sporting & Social experience. It is especially fun for those tennis players that prefer playing tennis but can now do it on a smaller court. Teens LOVE Spec Tennis because it is a faster game than pickleball.
