John DiVall, Board President

Dear Fellow Forest Highlands Members: I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying a beautiful fall season. As a sports fan, I love this time of year with the World Series, football in full swing and basketball season starting. And last but not least, absolutely my favorite weather of the year.

who agreed to serve the remaining 15 months of Bob Uhl’s term on the Board. Tim’s knowledge and expertise has been immensely valuable and we cannot thank him enough for volunteering to serve during this past year. Secondly, as you all know, the restaurant at the Meadow is open every weekend and again this year the Club is offering “Thanksgiving-to- go”, so please plan to order ahead by

As you know, things are a little slower around the Club this time of year, but there are a number of things happening that you should be aware of. First of all, the results are in from our Board of Directors Election. Jim Robinson has been re-elected for a second term and we will be adding Teri Schwab and Dirck Iacobelli as new board members this coming January. I’d like to welcome and congratulate all three of them and thank them again for their willingness to serve and add their perspectives to

calling 928-525-1100. Last year my family did this and the convenience was only topped by the delicious food! Additionally, Friday of Thanksgiving weekend we have a Turkey Bowl Flag Football Tournament, Holiday Pastabilities from 5:30-8:00pm at the Meadow and Saturday is the 2nd Annual North Pole Experience.

new Board Members!

This is the time of year that the department heads, staff, committees and the board are working feverishly on 2019 budgets. One of the things we’ve heard loud and clear from the membership is that they don’t like feeling “nickel and dimed” when using the Club, so we are looking at various iterations on how we can work on that issue and how it impacts dues. Another challenge we have is trying to limit staff turnover and dealing with the mandated Flagstaff minimum wage increases which continue to take place each calendar year. Staff, the finance committee and Board are taking all of these issues very seriously and giving all of the impacts full consideration. As always, the board and I value your input, so please do not hesitate to contact us through the member website. Hope to see you around the Club and I’d like to wish you all an early Happy Thanksgiving.

Board Meeting Date Change November 2018 Board Meeting: Monday, November 19 at 9:00am at Anthem Golf & Country Club our wonderful community. Also, thank you to those of you who voted, we had a very high participation rate, which we really appreciate. As a side note, over 99% of the ballots were cast electronically, which saves time and cost, so we will continue to use our electronic voting platform next year while continuing to make paper ballots available by request. Lastly on this topic, please join me in thanking Dennis Blair for his six years of tireless service on our board. Dennis will “term” off the board at the end of this year and his enthusiastic service to the Board and various committees has been invaluable and much appreciated. A huge thank you also to Tim Thomas
