ALARM RULE All Forest Highlands homes are to have alarms that communicate with Forest Highlands Security. Home alarms must be programmed to: • Detect fire/smoke • Do automatic daily (24-hour) testing with the Gatehouse

REQUIREMENT
The noted requirements are for the safety of the homes and Community. The importance of “Daily Testing” provides a means for the alarm monitoring center to be notified if a home alarm does not send an automatic daily test signal. When a home alarm does not send the automatic test, the Gatehouse staff is notified by way of a “DID NOT REPORT” message. Once the notification is received, Security staff will contact the respective Member(s) to report the non-communicating alarm and assist with having the alarm system communicate properly. The action needed can range from rebooting the alarm panel/alarm communicator to needing an alarm company service call.
UPDATE
Below details positive progress with alarm compliance starting in October/2019 to the present. Unfortunately in November/2021 and recently in February/2022 there was a decline in progress due to the impact of a FCC requirement that all local calls use a 10-digit number. In short, during the early years of alarm installations in northern Arizona, alarm panels were programmed using 7-digit dialing. *IMPORTANT – if you were not contacted about the FCC 10-digit requirement, your alarm panel was not impacted. If your alarm panel was one (1) of 177 in November/2021 or (1) of 96 in February/2022 impacted and have already addressed the situation, THANK YOU for your quick attention. The Security Department is available to assist with alarm matters, they may not be able to remedy all situations, but can provide guidance.
