LEADERSHIP

types of weeds that are harmful to our native plants and that should be removed from your yards.

Civility means a great deal more than just being nice to one another. It is complex and encompasses learning how to connect successfully and live well with others, developing thoughtfulness, and fostering effective self-expression and communication. Civility includes courtesy, politeness, mutual respect, fairness, good manners, as well as a matter of good health.

At the Regular Board meeting held on July 25, the board discussed a recent incident of vandalism to a poster at the mailroom that featured a group of children promoting a Recreation program. The vandalism appeared to be intentional to one specific child as none of the faces of the other children were damaged. This type of malicious behavior will not be tolerated and the board is extremely disappointed that someone within our community would act in this manner. The Forest Highlands Association Board of Directors is committed to providing a workplace and community that embraces and encourages the concepts of diversity, equity and inclusion for every person. We welcome and value the unique perspective and experience that every person brings. Cultivating a culture based on kindness, respect and civility is essential to the continued success and growth of Forest Highlands and we expect all Members, family and guests to behave accordingly. As a final thought, thank you to all those members who have contacted me or members of the Board with your compliments and constructive criticism regarding our operations. The objective of the Board and every staff person is to make Forest Highlands the best it can be. Without your input it is impossible to know what is working well and what could be improved. So please, continue to provide feedback, it is the lifeblood of our continued success!
