LEADERSHIP
Doug Sutter, General Manager/COO Dave Stearns, Board President
With July 4th just a few days away, I hope we all take a few moments to reflect on our good fortune. We all get to enjoy this incredible place called Forest Highlands, which puts us in a very select company of recreational communities throughout the USA. With the busy Fourth of July activities, there is no better time to show appreciation, support, and thoughtfulness to what we call Paradise in the Pines! The tremendous start to our 36th season continued into June. Signature golf events, including the Couples Invitational, Top Gun Shootout, and Member- Member tournaments, were all very successful. The Taste of Forest Highlands was well received by 512 attendees who purchased more than 600 cases of wine. We have a very full schedule of events planned for the upcoming long holiday weekend and look forward to a multi-day celebration with the Independence Day parade and BBQ starting on July 4th, followed by many other activities throughout the weekend. Your Board of Directors met on June 24th, and there are some notable items to mention: • Memorial Day BBQ had just under 1200 Members and Guests. • Both Golf and Food and Beverage numbers are up over last year. • Recreation Programs have reached nearly 2000 uses this year, and Concierge services have almost 1700 requests. • Speed Limit Violations citations so far have dropped from 227 in 2023 to just 80 in 2024. Updates on Capital Projects: • The Tennis Pavilion is nearly complete, and to say it turned out to be “better than advertised” would be a massive understatement. Please see the corresponding article about being awarded the Small Private Facility Award for 2024 from the USTA! Congratulations Nicole! It is an amazing achievement. • The Restroom Pavilion is complete with overwhelmingly positive reviews. • Westpac is finishing up their portion of the Water Tank Project, and Pacific Tank starts the second week of July.
WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE SAYING...
Club Overall It’s a combination of the
surroundings, the friendliness of members and staff and the wonderful amenities available for adults and children!
Everybody here cares. The residents care. The staff cares. The leadership cares. The fact that everyone cares about the quality of every aspect of the Forest Highlands experiences is what makes this place so special. Ever since we declared we want to get Canyon back
in the top 100, it seems people care even more.
We love hearing from our members, if you’d like to provide feedback please do so by emailing info@fhgc.com
