Dear Members,

As we approach the final month of the season, I want to thank each of you for the most amazing season ever! The Team and I feel so grateful to be your “crew” and we are already looking forward to 2024. If you plan on coming to the courts this month, the construction of the Pro Shop extension begins on Monday, October 9th. Though the Pro Shop, bathroom, and court one will be shut down, courts 2-4 will still be available for booking. All scheduled program has come to an end, but please contact the Pro Shop if you would like a lesson or help with arranging some social tennis. We had a wonderful Labor Day Social at the courts and a very successful Ladies Member/Guest team event on September 8-9. Congratulations to the winning team, consisting of Captain and member Katie Foster, member Susan Hamilton and guests, Leigh, Bess, and Angelee. The runner-up team was Captained by member Ashley Valentine, member Amanda McCarthy and guests, Molly, Kate, and Maggie. We had excellent high-level play with very many close matches. We will be offering two such events next season. One for 4.0 USTA + and another for 3.0 – 3.5 USTA level players. Please be sure to book your spot early next season! September is budget preparation, which ties into our Calendar of Events. We will be sending out our survey at the end of this month. Please let us know what we did well and what we can improve on. Our Racquet Department desperately needs to show the Board that we are relevant and active! We had 3,297 members/ guests walk on to our tennis and pickleball courts during the month of July. Lets keep our Department relevant by telling the Board that we are grateful and growing!
