2024 Forest Highlands House Committee

auction with the other dining tables that have failed in previous years, to sell them at one set price of $100 for a 10 top table in the shade. This will be marketed and hopefully sold for the Labor Day barbeque to see if that will help resolve the discrepancy of the current rules surrounding this particular seating area. The money coming in from these table sales would be used toward the cost of renting additional tables, chairs, umbrellas, etc. Because of the July temperatures, it has been noted to rent 50 umbrellas in the future rather than the 30 that were brought in this year. • Fourth of July Food- T o have fresh, higher quality food the compromise is slightly longer lines. To help with the time it takes to get food, there will be 4 burger and hot dog stations set up around the driving range for the lower attendance barbeques (Memorial and Labor Days) and will offer four of the burger and hotdog stations for the Fourth of July barbeque. It is under consideration to add a station for some simple kids’ food to make the $29.95 kids price point make sense for what they would like to actually eat. • Fourth of July Bar- While it is a common complaint that both bar lines are longer than people would like, it is not feasible to have a second bar set up outside but could redirect staff to be passing canned beverages like beer and seltzers to free up the bars to focus on wines and cocktails. • Holiday Weekend Schedule 2024- J uly 4, 2024, falls on a Thursday which will be the barbeque day to kick off the holiday weekend. It was also discussed to further develop the thought of a celebration show or display in place of a traditional fireworks show. • Ladie’s Swingfest- Some golfers were uneasy about how this tournament limits their options across the club during the week. The timing fits the ladies schedule but also overlaps with most families' vacation time in town so it will not be moved. The food and beverage outlets for the majority remained open for normal operation hours with the pool being closed one night and the Canyon Dining Room operating on their dark day to minimize the impact of the mid-summer tournament. The ladies wanted a host bar for their cocktail and hors d'oeuvres night at the pool which is a discussion regarding the budget with golf. The golf committee will have discussions at their next meeting regarding closing both golf tournaments for the week but overall great feedback and reviews from the ladies. • F&B Outlets- o Canyon Dining Room - Covers are up in all areas and check averages are slightly down. Takeout sales are up, possibly because people aren't able to get into the reservation times, they are looking for so they are opting to take out instead. o Hole One Cafe - Sales are a little bit down, especially for breakfast because of the changes this year, not being able to cook out there on a regular basis. Lunch items look good and seem to be fitting the need for golfers looking for something quick. o Cool Down - There were 5 cooldowns in June so the numbers look really great but the average per cooldown is about $8,000 and for the Friday leading to the Fourth of July it was a $14,000 night. Cooldowns have found a great stride this year with food and ticket flow.
