REGISTRATION All events/tournaments/leagues will open for registration on April 1st. Registration deadlines are all one week in advance of the event, unless otherwise specified. All clinics open for registration 1 week in advance and close 24 hours before class. If there is still space, you may register on the day. We have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 per clinic. All private court bookings may be made 1 week in advance of play on the members.fhgc.com website and via the FHGC app. COMMUNICATION To recevie text alerts about clinics, event and/or programming changes, please text “FHGCTENNIS” TO 40691 A weekly FHGC email is sent out with happenings around the club; Tennis info may be found at the bottom of the email All programming information on the web page will OPEN on April 1 All clinics, events and court bookings are available on the members.fhgc.com website and via the FHGC app. The Voice in the Pines, is available from the 1st of every month.
As I type, the icicles are hanging off the Pro Shop roof and your courts are covered in snow. It is hard to believe in only a couple of months, we will open our “doors” and welcome you all back for the 2023 season. I am excited to share that Garrett Lakey, USPTA Pro will be back as my Assistant Pro for the season. Garrett will be in charge of all Junior and Adult Development Programming and I will lead the Junior Excellence and Adult Advanced Programming.
To give everyone an update on the extension to the Pro Shop, at the Board’s October 31, 2022 meeting (Board minutes available on the member website) the Board made a decision to postpone construction of the expanded tennis pavilion project to Fall 2023, due to the impact of having the facility available for the 2023 summer season. A new architect was hired in mid-2022 and final plans were not complete until early October. This created a delay in obtaining the construction permit resulting in an estimated completion date of July 2023, notwithstanding the impacts of weather and material procurement issues, which could have delayed the project even further. We will plan to close the facility mid-October 2023 so that demolition can begin with an anticipated completion by Memorial Weekend 2024.
